Hilario Juarez M.D. has lived in Phoenix for over 25 Years. He received his medical degree from the University of Colorado in 1979, and has since practiced surgery in the Phoenix area. Early on, he was a respected physician and opened a general surgery, private practice in 1984.

Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery became his specialty and gave him a great advantage when learning bariatrics. He began performing weight loss surgery in 1997 which quickly became his passion. Dr. Juarez worked at Banner Good Samaritan as a level one trauma surgeon for 10 years and pioneered the first laparoscopic bariatric surgery in Arizona. He has done thousands of general cases and over 3,000 bariatric procedures.
